NEW JERSEY: The grandeur of India’s centuries-old mythology, epics and Sanatan culture came alive on the American stage through the spectacular theatrical production ‘Hara Hara Mahadeva’. Blending India’s rich cultural heritage with modern theatrical technology, the production was staged at the Jo-Ann Magistro Performing Arts Center in East Brunswick, New Jersey.
The auditorium, packed with more than 1,000 enthusiastic spectators, witnessed a grand presentation featuring over 100 local artists. The performance immersed the audience in an atmosphere of devotion, spirituality and cultural celebration.
‘Hara Hara Mahadeva’ marked the debut production of the Sanatan organisation, which presented Telugu language, Indian mythology and Sanatan culture through a visually captivating theatrical experience. Elaborate sets, LED visuals, sophisticated lighting, music, dance, specially designed costumes and makeup came together to create a unique theatrical spectacle.
Popular Telugu television actor Indraneel, known for serials such as Chakravakam and Mogalirekulu, portrayed Lord Shiva and also directed the production. Arja Varshini, a recipient of two Nandi Awards, choreographed the massive production involving more than 100 artists in just ten days, emerging as one of the major highlights of the show.
Dance performances by Swathi Atluri and students of Siddhendra Kuchipudi Arts Academy received an enthusiastic response from the audience. From the powerful Shiva Tandava to the concluding sequence, every scene was carefully crafted as a blend of devotion, dance, music and dramatic expression.
Sanatan organisation founders Kambamettu Seshagiri Rao provided the story and dialogues, while fellow founder Suresh Kajana was responsible for the overall programme design. Srinivas Karthikeya served as producer, while Anil Sharma Somayajula contributed to the screenplay and Sudhanshu handled the music. Several specially composed songs were created exclusively for the production.

Overwhelming Response from the Audience
Following the performance, the production received an overwhelming response from the audience. Many spectators expressed their desire to see more such productions, with requests such as, “When will you stage another performance?” and “Please bring the show to our city as well.”
According to the Sanatan team, invitations are already coming in from various parts of the United States to stage ‘Hara Hara Mahadeva’ in different cities.
The organisation also expressed its gratitude to Swathi Atluri for her support and to Ashok Chintakunta and Madhavi for their valuable contribution towards costumes and makeup.

Seshagiri Rao Kambamettu and Suresh Kajana serve as the founders of the Sanatan organisation, while Saritha Kambamettu and Shyamala Kajana serve as directors. With the successful staging of ‘Hara Hara Mahadeva’, Sanatan has made a grand beginning to its journey in the United States.
