Hyderabad, (India) – The Telangana State Narcotics Bureau (TS-NAB), in collaboration with Youth Force and Telangana Development Forum (TDF), conducted an “Anti-Drugs Awareness Workshop” for college youth and software professionals at Q-City Software Park, Hyderabad. The workshop is part of the “Drug Free Telangana” mission.

 

The initiative aimed to raise awareness, educate young people, and empower them to fight against drug abuse and illicit trafficking. TS-NAB officials provided an informative presentation on drug abuse, followed by an interactive session with IPS officers Sandeep Shandilya and Sharath Chandra Pawar, and SP Aggadi Bhaskar. The session allowed participants to ask questions and gain insights from real experiences.

 

Sandeep Sandilya, Director of TS-NAB, highlighted the state government’s efforts to combat drug trafficking through Mission Parivarthana. He urged the audience to join the fight by reporting drug cases to the TS-NAB helpline (8712671111) and assured data privacy. He emphasized the importance of youth becoming “Anti-Drug Soldiers” and applauded the collaborative effort between TS-NAB, TDF, and educational institutions.

 

Matta Rajeshwar Reddy, President of TDF India, expressed concern about the rising drug abuse cases in Telangana. TDF plans to conduct more awareness programs and encourage participation in arts, culture, and sports activities to keep young people away from drugs.

 

Sharath Chandra Pawar, IPS officer of TS-NAB, spoke about the dangers of drug addiction and how it can lead to self-destruction and harm families. He emphasized the importance of creating awareness and highlighted the collaborative efforts with educational institutions to curb the trend.

 

The workshop also addressed the growing concern of e-cigarette use among minors. Aggadi Bhaskar, SP of TS-NAB, informed about recent arrests and the measures taken to tackle the supply of drugs and e-cigarettes from other states. He urged schools and parents to work together to identify and report any drug-related activities.

 

The event was well-attended by dignitaries including TS-NAB officials, TDF representatives, Q-City management, college students, local youth, software professionals, and HR representatives.
