Hyderabad (MediaBoss Network): On Friday, a free breast cancer screening camp was held at the Louis Braille Bhavan in Suraram, organized by Granules India, AIG Hospitals, and Kshatriya Vanitha Vikas (KVV), an affiliate of Kshatriya Seva Samiti (KSS). The screenings were conducted using a mobile women’s breast cancer screening unit, benefiting women from the local community.
Dr. Chigurupati Prajna, addressing the attendees, emphasized the importance of raising awareness about breast cancer. She urged women to undergo annual breast cancer screenings, highlighting that early detection can prevent the disease from progressing and eliminate the need for mastectomy in many cases.
Chief guest Vanitha Datla commended Granules India and AIG Hospitals for their social initiatives, noting that free breast cancer screenings are immensely beneficial for underprivileged communities. She pointed out that lack of awareness and the high cost of tests in private hospitals often deter women from seeking timely screenings. She encouraged people to take advantage of such free camps organized by voluntary organizations.
The event saw active participation from Kshatriya Vanitha Vikas members, including Indukuri Mohana, Satya Dandu, Usha Kalyani, Padma, Madhuri Kalidindi, Sujatha, Pratima Verma, and Shailaja, among others. They expressed gratitude to the organizers and the medical team for their efforts. A total of 111 women from Suraram and Chintal areas participated in the camp, availing themselves of the free screenings.
