Washington D.C., Virginia: The American Telugu Association (ATA) Literature Division organized a grand literary gathering in the Washington D.C. metro area, drawing enthusiastic participation from Telugu literature lovers, prominent poets, writers, and readers from the Telugu diaspora.
Renowned poet and Avadhani Narala Ramareddy, celebrated writer Divakarla Rajeshwari, and literary figure Maguluri Bhanuprakash took part as keynote speakers. They engaged audiences with insightful discussions on topics such as “Gurajada’s Writings and Social Responsibility” and “Sri Sri’s Songs in Cinema.” Their analytical commentary captivated the attendees.
On this occasion, the short story collection “Pagadala Dweepi”, written by Divakarla Rajeshwari, was introduced by Venu Nakshatram, who praised it as an inspiring guide for aspiring storytellers.
A poets’ gathering (Kavi Sammelanam), led by ATA Literature Division member Bhupati Vihari, featured several poets presenting their works. Poetry competitions held in three categories recognized Chandra Chellapilla (First Prize), Sowjanya Gudipati (Second Prize), and Susheela Satyavolu (Third Prize) as winners. The poetry recitations enthralled the audience and the platform served as a guiding force for the participants’ creativity.
The event was successfully conducted under the leadership of ATA Literature Division Standing Committee Chairman Venu Nakshatram, with the support of ATA President Jayanth Challa, former ATA President Bhuvanesh Bhujala, Executive Members Sudheer Bhandaru, Zeenath Reddy, and the entire ATA team.
As the first literary gathering organized by the newly elected ATA Executive Committee in the Washington D.C. metro area, the event received an overwhelming response. Many speakers praised the platform as a seed for many more such literary events in the future, recognizing its contribution to promoting Telugu literature globally.
